Just a few moments before COVID-19 Pandemic changed our whole activities, Blanco Kopi Indonesia escorted our two fellows, Max from Speicherstadt Kaffeerösterei, Hamburg, and Sultan from Roots Coffeehouse, Riyadh to visit our coffee plantation located in Pantan Musara, Takengon, Aceh and meet our Coffee Processor, Hendra Maulizar.
Max is Q Arabica Grader and Q-Processing Level 2. At the moment, Max has been in Aceh for a few months, he was working in collaboration with a Wildlife Conservation Fund in Sumatera, a Coffee Farmer group in Aceh and Coffee Roasters around the world to collect funds for wildlife in order to promote sustainable farming practices. While Sultan is the CEO of Roots Coffeehouse in Saudi Arabia who has been traveled around the Coffee Producers Countries such as Brazil, Kenya, Ethiopia, etc. to source his coffee shop with a truly high-quality coffee bean.
Max and Sultan are having a different type of coffee preferences. Max is quite interested in Wet Hulled Coffee Process, locally called Giling Basah Process. He was attracted and loved how we process our Wet Hulled Coffee Process in our Processing Center, Pantan Musara. He was also impressed by the result of the coffee, by the clean character and good acidity as the result. In addition, his vision towards the coffee industries is really good, he paid so much attention to sustainability in the coffee cycle. An issue that aligned with our tagline, “Committed to Coffee Greatness”. And Sultan was fascinated by our Micro-Lot lineup, Carbonic Macerations lineup, coincidentally we are in possession of several many micro-lot processes that have recently been used for barista competitions, he was satisfied with the cupping result of our micro-lot coffee which has good sparkling acidity, body, and sweetness characters.
It was delightful to accompanied Max and Sultan to visit our plantation, although they both have different taste preferences, our discussion and trip were really enjoyable. We shared a lot of information, experiences, laugh, and also coffees.
